What Love Notepad stores, why it is stored and the choices available to you.
1. Drafts and published notes
A new anonymous draft starts locally in your browser and is sent to our service only when you publish it. If you sign in and create a cloud note, its title and content are saved to your account workspace as you edit so the note can appear on your other devices.
For published and cloud notes, we store the content, title, ownership, settings, version information and protection data needed to provide the service. Uploaded images are stored with their note. Note passwords and editing credentials are stored only in derived, unreadable form.
2. Accounts and service use information
If you create an account, we store the name and email you provide, email-verification status, a derived password value and sign-in records needed to authenticate and protect the account. We also process limited network, device, timing and action information needed to deliver the service and prevent misuse.
A necessary sign-in cookie keeps an optional account session available. Temporary information may also enforce rate limits and keep password-protected viewing available during a visit. Verification and password-reset messages are sent through a transactional email provider. We do not use advertising or third-party behavioural analytics.
3. AI writing assistant
Love AI is optional and available only to verified account holders. When you send a request, we process your instruction together with the current note title, text, format and edit state needed to answer or propose an edit. We store your request and the assistant's response in a dedicated conversation database so the thread can continue and appear in your history. The AI service does not receive your email address, password, edit key or direct access to the notes database.
AI inputs are sent through OpenRouter to the routed model provider for inference. OpenRouter and model providers may process, retain or use inputs and outputs according to their own settings and policies, which can vary by provider. Do not submit sensitive personal information you do not want processed by these providers. Hidden model reasoning is not returned to the browser or saved as conversation history.
4. Forms and reports
Contact and abuse forms store the name or email you provide, the selected category, message or reported links, timestamps and review status so we can respond and operate moderation.
5. Sharing and retention
Anyone with a note's read link can view it unless it is password-protected, expired, deleted or restricted. Anyone with editing access can modify or delete it. Choose recipients accordingly.
Notes remain until deleted, expired or restricted. AI conversations remain until you delete the conversation or your account. Deleting an account removes that account, its owned notes and images, and its AI conversation history from active storage. Limited operational records or backups may persist for a short period, and reports may be retained when needed for safety, legal obligations or dispute handling.
6. Your choices
Keep a draft local by not publishing or moving it into an account workspace. Set an expiry, remove a password, export your work, delete a note while you have editing access, or delete an AI conversation from its history menu. Account holders can change their password or permanently delete the account and all owned content. Browser-only data can be removed through browser settings.
For privacy questions or requests, email support@lovenotepad.com or use the Contact page. We may need enough information to identify a relevant account, report or note. We cannot recover an anonymous note when its edit key is lost; a verified owner can reopen an account-owned note and replace its collaboration link.
